How ZenLift collects, stores, and protects your data. We keep things minimal, transparent, and user‑controlled.

1. Summary (Plain Language)#

ZenLift helps users track cannabis cessation and related wellness metrics. The app stores most data locally on the device unless the user enables optional cloud sync or contacts support. We do not sell user data or use it for third‑party advertising. Minimal analytics and diagnostics may be collected to improve stability and features.

2. Scope#

Applies to:

  • The ZenLift iOS application
  • Related in‑app features
  • Optional support interactions (email / web form)

Does not cover third‑party sites you may access via external links.

3. Data Categories#

Collected data (depending on user actions/settings):

Health & Fitness:

Cannabis use logs, cravings, mood, withdrawal notes, goals, milestone progress.

Usage Data:

App interactions, feature usage events (aggregate), session timestamps.

Diagnostics:

Crash logs, performance metrics (if user opts in to share with Apple / developer).

Identifiers:

Device model, OS version, anonymized installation ID (generated, not advertising ID).

Contact Info (Optional):

Email address only if user initiates support or requests data export.

Not collected:

Precise geolocation, contacts, camera, photos, microphone, advertising identifiers, browsing history, payment card numbers, biometric templates.

4. Data Uses#

  • Core Functionality: Store and display cessation tracking metrics.
  • User Progress & Insights: Generate streaks, trends, motivational statistics.
  • Account-Free Operation: Default local-only storage (no account required).
  • Optional Sync/Backup: Via iCloud Key-Value / CloudKit (Apple infrastructure).
  • Support & Communication: Respond to user requests, bug reports.
  • Analytics & Quality: Aggregate usage patterns, crash diagnostics to improve stability.
  • Legal Compliance: Fulfill legal obligations and enforce terms.

We do not use data for: cross-app tracking, third-party ad targeting, data brokerage, profiling unrelated to cessation support.

5. Storage & Retention#

Local Device Storage:

Primary dataset (user logs).

Cloud Storage:

If user enables future sync: stored encrypted using Apple's infrastructure.

Support Emails:

Retained only as long as needed to resolve inquiry (default 12 months).

Crash / Analytics Data:

Aggregated and rotated (typically 90–180 days).

6. Data Sharing#

We do not sell personal data. Limited sharing:

  • Service Providers: Crash & performance monitoring, email handling (if external service used). Bound by confidentiality, minimal access.
  • Legal: Only upon valid, narrowly scoped legal process.
  • Business Changes: If assets are transferred, users will be notified and given choices where required.

No sharing for advertising networks or data brokers.

7. Tracking & Cross-App Tracking#

ZenLift does not track users across apps or websites. No advertising identifiers or third-party ad SDKs. App Privacy section marks "Data Not Used for Tracking."

8. Security Measures#

  • Local data container protected by iOS sandbox & OS encryption at rest
  • We encourage users to enable device passcode / Face ID
  • No plaintext transmission of sensitive data
  • Principle of Data Minimization: Only essential identifiers retained
  • Periodic security reviews before adding networking features

9. User Controls & Rights#

Features provided:

  • In-App Data Reset: Full deletion of local dataset
  • Export (Optional): Structured JSON or CSV via Share Sheet
  • Email Requests: Access, correction, deletion (where applicable)

Jurisdictional rights (EEA/UK/California etc.) may include: access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, opt-out of non-essential analytics.

10. Children's Privacy#

Not directed to children under 16. Do not knowingly collect data from minors. Remove data if inadvertently collected after notice.

11. Push Notifications#

Used only for motivational reminders, streak alerts, or goal prompts. User may disable in iOS Settings at any time. No tracking or third-party ad content.

12. Changes to This Policy#

Material changes: in-app notice + updated Effective Date. Continued use after notice = acceptance (where lawful). If changes materially expand use of sensitive data, obtain renewed consent.

14. Region-Specific Information#

California (CCPA/CPRA):

No sale or sharing. Sensitive personal information (health logs) used solely for permitted purposes.

EEA/UK:

Lodge complaints with local supervisory authority.

Australia / Canada:

Similar access & correction rights; contact us.

15. User Responsibilities#

We advise users to:

  • Keep device secure
  • Do not include personally identifying info in free-text notes if they want anonymity
  • Use official export/delete features rather than manually editing app files

This policy does not create contractual rights beyond those in Terms of Use. Some sections apply only where relevant laws grant such rights.
